Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School, in partnership with our Adirondack community, provides excellence in education that enables all students to achieve their full potential in an ever-changing world. School board members, administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and parents all work together to fulfill this mission in tangible, measurable ways.

ELCS is a single-building public school district of 275 students K-12. Our administrative staff consists of a Superintendent/Principal and Director of Student Services. We employ 30 teaching faculty (including the 2010 NYS Art Educator of the Year) and 11 instructional support staff. We have many opportunities for current and aspiring students described on our web page.  Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School is located in the Adirondack Park, within the community of Elizabethtown, New York - the County Seat of Essex County. The entire region consists of unique, rural communities, exceptional hunting/recreational areas and the always outstanding beauty of the Adirondack Mountains.

Area students were recently named to the President's List for outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2013 semester at SUNY Canton. "Congratulations to our President's List students for the Fall Term 2013! The Provost, deans, faculty and I are very proud of the way you applied your best efforts to the semester's coursework," said SUNY Canton Acting President Joseph C. Hoffman. "The work ethic and the enthusiasm for learning you develop here at the College will serve you well in your professional careers after graduation." To receive President's List honors, full-time students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
